Lightroom 2027: IFFR's new call for immersive projects
The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), one of the leading European festivals dedicated to independent, auteur and experimental cinema, renews for 2027 Lightroom, its industry platform dedicated to immersive and non-linear storytelling.
After the first edition in 2026, Lightroom proposes a new call for projects aimed at artists, filmmakers and producers developing XR, VR works, installations, performances and other immersive or interactive projects.
Lightroom Market and Lightroom Expanded
The proposal is divided into two programs.
Lightroom Market connects the selected projects with international partners, institutions and professionals, accompanying them in the development and production phases.
New for 2027 is Lightroom Expanded, a program dedicated to immersive projects that aim to reach a wider audience, be presented on multiple occasions, or circulate across multiple venues. The program is created in collaboration with UPscaleXR and DASHXR, with the support of Cultuurloket DigitALL.
Deadline and Dates
Applications for the programs are open until September 15, 2026.
TheIFFR 2027 will take place from January 28 to February 7, 2027, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The festival is primarily an in-person event and involves several venues in the city, with de Doelen, Kruisplein 40, 3012 CC Rotterdam, among the main locations.
Lightroom therefore represents an opportunity for professionals and creators working in the immersive storytelling sector who wish to develop new collaborations at an international level.
