The entire system is managed through a single Blueprint Actor: just insert it into the scene, select one of the available presets and the water is immediately ready for use.
Every parameter is fully exposed in the Unreal Engine editor, complete with explanatory tooltips that allow even less experienced users to easily customize the behavior of water without having to consult lengthy documentation.
Infinite oceans or small lakes
EasyWaterscape allows you to choose between different scenarios.
You can create:
infinite oceans that automatically follow the camera;
lakes;
ponds;
bounded bodies of water.
The infinite ocean effect allows the player to sail or fly over the environment without ever reaching the edge of the water surface, improving immersion in open world maps.
Goodbye to repetitive surfaces
One of the most common problems in water systems is the repetition of textures or waves.
EasyWaterscape integrates specific tools to eliminate this effect thanks to techniques that simulate real physical phenomena, naturally breaking the visual patterns and making the surface much more credible even during long navigations.
Dynamic foam and automatic coasts
The package also includes CoastMaker, a tool that automatically generates the interaction between water and terrain.
With just one click you can get:
foam along the coast;
waves breaking on the beach;
wave run-up;
dynamic surf.
The foam is also generated procedurally using the calculation of the Jacobian, appearing and dissolving where the wave motion requires it, without predefined animations.
Integrated Buoyancy System
For game developers, simulating the interaction between objects and water is fundamental.
EasyWaterscape includes three different buoyancy systems, designed to adapt to different use cases:
Blueprint Component;
Niagara-based Blueprint;
Material Function.
Each system is able to read the height of the waves in real time, allowing boats, debris, characters and other objects to float following the real movement of the surface.

Among the features already present we find an underwater system with smooth transitions between surface and immersion, as well as the lake mode, both destined to receive further improvements in the next versions.
The coastal interaction system is also constantly evolving: while CoastMaker already allows you to automatically generate foam, waves and surf along the coast, future updates will aim to make waves breaking on the beach and the behavior of the water near the coast even more realistic.
