Selections are now open for the free “Real Time Performing Arts” workshop at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia
The Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia has opened selections for the “Real Time Performing Arts” workshop, a training course dedicated to performing arts in a digital and immersive environment. The initiative is part of the Cinecittà Project funded by the PNRR through the European NextGenerationEU funds.
The workshop will be hosted by the Polo Immersive & Performing Arts of the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema on the island of San Servolo, in Venice, and offers 6 free places for students and professionals interested in the relationship between performance, real-time technologies, XR and immersive media.
When it takes place and what it includes
The activities will take place from 22 to 26 June 2026, approximately from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, for a total 20 hours of training. Attendance is mandatory and at the end of the course a certificate of participation will be issued certifying the skills acquired.
The program alternates theoretical moments and practical laboratory activities. Participants will explore topics such as the relationship between the body and digital space, the construction of stage presence in virtual environments and the design of immersive and interactive experiences.
Ample space will be dedicated to exercises, with performative experiments that integrate physical stage, digital environments and fruition devices, followed by moments of critical review and collective comparison.
Requirements and application procedures
To participate, you must be at least 18 years old, have a secondary school diploma and demonstrate interest or familiarity with performing arts, audiovisual, XR, digital media or languages of the contemporary stage.
The application must be submitted exclusively online by 12:00 on June 12, 2026 through the official CSC platform.
The application must be accompanied by:
identity document;
tax code;
short CV;
telephone and email contact details;
a cover letter.
The selection will be made through the evaluation of the submitted materials. The commission may also call some candidates for an introductory interview, even remotely.
A path dedicated to immersive performing arts
The aim of the workshop is to provide introductory but concrete tools to understand how to design a performative action in relation to real-time digital scenarios, analyzing the role of the body, space and the spectator's perception.
